The Story

Since ancient times the sun was recognized as a powerful, life-sustaining force, and worshipped as a deity. To the Kapampangan he was the warrior sun god, Apolaki, who rules the day. In other myths she was the goddess Hanan, who ushered in the dawn. She was prayed to when one entered a new phase in life.
